About

Anna Pirvu is an Urban Studies major, minoring in Spanish and Sustainable Cities at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her graduating class is 2023.

She is currently a part of the National Science Foundation program, Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), for the STiiP team. In this role, she is able to work on a supervised research project within the study that includes creating outward facing materials and while also contributing to study data collection. Her favorite part about working on the project is being able to further enhance her sociological abilities (such as observational, analytical, and writing skills), as well as develop further critical thinking and making evidence-based analyses.
She says that:

being able to put my research and technical skills into practice is a very exciting and rewarding experience.

She is currently working with the project, volunteering locally, and is an active participant in additional extracurricular activities.
